The city of lights, Karachi, once again witnesses a sorrowful event. Recently, an explosion occurred in a building near Maskan Chowrangi, Gulshan-i-Iqbal, Karachi kills 5.

Reportedly, at least five people have succumbed to their injuries in the blast and, more than 20 are injured. Besides, all the deceased and injured have been shifted to the Patel Hospital.

According to the footage, the explosion heavily damaged the building and the surroundings in Karachi’s Gulshan-I-Iqbal area which also kills 5. Furthermore, as per reports, the blast occurred on the second floor of the building. In addition, the explosion damaged vehicles and windows of the adjacent buildings and areas.

As of yet, the nature of the blast is unknown. The government officials, police, and other law enforcement agencies have cordoned off the respected domain.

CM Sindh Takes Notice

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, who is news over the arrest of Captain Safdar, has taken notice of the explosion. He has ordered the Karachi commissioner to present a comprehensive report of the incident.

Furthermore, the CM has also directed officials to assure medical treatment for the injured.

According to a report by Dawn, police investigators said it was an improvised explosive device (IED) planted at the gate of the terminal. According to them, a bicycle rigged with some explosive material was parked at the site. It blew up wounding five people. Meanwhile, some reports suggest the explosion occurred due to a “leakage of gas”.

The terrorists have targeted the city of lights several times in the past. It is one of the most affected cities in Pakistan; primarily, India funded terrorists operate in the city as Indian ammunition once found in Karachi. Hopefully, the details of the blast will be public soon.
