Javed Akhtar Seconds Sonu Nigam’s Statement On Azaan and Muslims are Enraged on Twitter!

Waking up to a new day with the soothing voice of Azan could be an indescribable feeling. Its loud and clear recitation by the Muazzin is a call for the believers to report to their Lord. The spiritual message of it reminds every Muslim of the Islamic ideology that they firmly believe in. However, last year the famous Indian-Hindu singer, Sonu Nigam tweeted on Azaan, that sparked a debate.

DIDN’T EXPECT HIM TO SAY SUCH A THING

Many who read the tweet interpreted it as a hate comment on the Muslims. It got so bad that he was even issued a fatwa by Syed Sha Atef Ali Al Quaderi of the West Bengal Minority Council which later resulted in him shaving his head off.

The singer added in his next tweet,

And by the way, Mohammed did not have electricity when he made Islam. Why do I have to have this cacophony after Edison?” This was followed by yet another blunt statement saying, “I don’t believe in any temple or gurudwara using electricity to wake up people who don’t follow the religion. Why then..? Honest? True?” He concluded saying, “Gundagardi hai bus.”

Soon after his tweet, he highlighted how people are only focusing on mosques and not on temple and gurudwara.

THE CLARIFICATION FROM HIS SIDE

Recently, Javed Akhtar the renowned Indian poet, lyricist, and screenwriter second Sonu Nigam’s words by tweeting that he agrees with him 100%. A soon as Mr. Akhtar clicked “tweet”, a flood of hate replies started pouring in where a majority disagreed with him and called him a hypocrite for being an intellectual man with a hateful mind.

TRY USING YOUR BRAIN ALSO

Some people even reminded him that there are other problems at hands that need more attention than this, so he better focus on that. This wasn’t the first time that a B-town celebrity spoke over the issue, some supported Sonu while others didn’t agree with him.

BACK TO THE DEBATE OF AZAN

Nonetheless, have these celebrities forgotten Priyanka Chopra’s statement back in 2016 where she describes Azan as the best and peaceful moment of her day? Because that doesn’t sound like she also hates the voice of it on loudspeakers. Back then, she also shared that she waits for it around the time of sunset because it has a soothing effect to it.

SHE DOESNT SEEM IRRITATED, ISN’T SHE ALSO A NON-MUSLIM?

It’s always better to keep religious differences aside whenever everyone makes any comment especially living in a country where the minority is already facing a lot of issues. If you liked this article then like, share and comment down below to give us your feedback.
