IT Ministry and ISPR Collaborate To Promote Pakistan’s Animation Industry

Ministry of Information Technology (IT) and ISPR recently collaborated for promoting Pakistan’s animation industry.

According to an official statement, Federal Minister for IT and Telecom Syed Aminul Haque and DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar were present in the ceremony held at ISPR’s headquarters in Rawalpindi. Secretary IT and Telecom Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui also attended the meeting.

The animation industry’s overall market size is nearly $270 Billion. It is expected to increase by nearly $415 Billion at the end of 2025. Pakistan also has potential to become an integral part of this booming industry.

The fact can’t be denied that animation industry can make an immense contribution to Pakistan’s economy. It can help to generate job opportunities, bring foreign investment and can also help to prepare a highly skilled work force.

Pakistan does not have an established animation industry. Several projects in animation have been made in the past in the form of music videos, advertisements. However, significant investment is required to promote this animation on a large scale in Pakistan.

Animation has made a significant contribution in different professional sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Defense and Engineering. As a result, ISPR and Ministry of IT will make a collaborative effort to promote animation skills for different professions.

For promoting entrepreneurship in animation across Pakistan, a dedicated Animation Incubation Centre has also been designed. Short courses related to gaming, design and animation would also be introduced for training highly skilled professionals in specific fields.

This collaboration between ISPR and Ministry of IT would certainly be highly beneficial for the promotion of Pakistan’s Animation Industry.
