Imran Khan, former Prime Minister of Pakistan will run for the chancellorship of Oxford University. Meanwhile, Oxford’s last chancellor Lord Patten, resigned, at 80 years of age. Other nominees include former UK prime ministers Tony Blair and Boris Jhonson.
PTI’s jailed chief Imran Khan may run for the chancellorship at Oxford University. Khan’s international media adviser Zulfi Bukhari has confirmed the news. Meanwhile, Khan is still yet to approve the run. Following it will be an online signature campaign.
Furthermore, only Oxford’s alumni can run for its chancellorship. Adding to it, with former UK prime minister Tony Blair, and Boris Jhonson in the run, Imran Khan’s chances seem thin. However, the UK’s parliament recently sought Khan’s immediate release, adding to his fame.

Lord Patten, former chancellor of Oxford University resigned after 21 years in office. Additionally, he has been the former governor of Hong Kong. Moreover, he has been the head of the Tory Party. Nominees are physically present in Oxford. However, elections for the first time, will be online.
Imran Khan holds an Economics, and Politics degree from Keble College, Oxford. Khan graduated in 1972, playing his first match in 1971. Khan, previously held Bradford University’s chancellorship, from 2005 to 2014.
