Chaos outside Imran Khan’s residence, as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) workers and police clashed in Lahore’s Zaman Park area due of arrest warrant against imran khan.
Islamabad Police arrived, along with armored vehicles, and reached party chief Imran Khan’s Lahore residence to arrest the former premier after non-bailable warrants.
Soon after the incident took place, the official Twitter account of PTI released a tweet that encouraged the party workers and supporters to gather outside the residence and maintain peace.
But things didn’t go well as per the tweet, PTI workers reportedly started stoning police officials as the police began baton-charging the crowds.
Imran Khan Arrest Warrant
As per the sources, “a heavy contingent of Lahore Police accompanying the capital police is also outside Imran’s house, and the police have blocked all the roads leading to the neighborhood.”
Not only police, but Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Islamabad Shahzad Nadeem Bukhari also arrived at the scene with an armored vehicle and made sure to comply with an arrest warrant.
When news correspondents asked the DIG about the arrest warrant, DIG Bukhari refrained from answering and stated that he was fulfilling the warrant. He added that media personnel would be informed regarding where Imran would be taken after the arrest.
PTI leader Farrukh Habib also shared footage from Zaman Park and claimed Imran’s “life was in danger” and added that circumstances are being created to target the former premier again.
Recently, FIA also issued an arrest warrant against Imran Khan over a funding case.
