With Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz being sentenced to jail, things have now taken a swift change. The entire fiasco, however, was all over the media with the former prime minister of Pakistan being arrested for the third time.
With Lahore sealed with containers, mobile signals down and PMLN supporters waiting on the airport to welcome their leader and his daughter, situations were pretty tensed.
For Maryam Nawaz, Saying Goodbye to her Children was the Toughest
Yet something which was bound to happen when you have to deal with the consciousness of your actions.
Told my kids to be brave in the face of oppression. But kids will still be kids. Goodbyes are hard, even for the grownups. pic.twitter.com/ge17Al5gfY

On the Other Hand, Junaid Safdar Also Got into a Fight with a Protestor Who Abused Maryam Nawaz

Can you imagine if that happened in Punjab? The #Punjab Police would have tortured and arrested the victims rather than the attackers. 1/2 pic.twitter.com/YvcNYcDt2k

In short, everything was chaotic.
Now that Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz are behind bars, no one knows the treatment they are getting – is it a VVIP treatment or is it brutal? Every detail has been kept away from media thus far.
However, Hussain Nawaz, Nawaz Sharif’s Son Has Something to Add
According to Hussain Nawaz, the Sharifs behind bars are getting poor treatment, which includes not getting a proper bed either. Here’s what he tweeted:
I am told that my father was not given a bed to sleep on and the bathroom was extremely dirty probably not cleaned for ages. There’s no precedence of treating people’s representatives with dignity in this country but these are basic rights withdrawal of which constitutes torture.

Pakistanis, On the Other Hand, Weren’t Sympathetic with his Tweet:

And There Was Not Stopping
Good, your father isn't a KING, he's like one of us, plus he gets to witness how more than 30% of the population (probably even more) get to deal with every single day.
PLUS he is in prison, not a hotel. https://t.co/OLsTTzffPV

Aw, do you know women in punjab have given births outside hospitals on the floors? in bathrooms? in rickshaws? Do you know people sleep on footpaths everyday? of course you dont. https://t.co/e6TZWShxfr

Yep!
With all due respect Mr Hussain Nawaz, when your father ruled for more than 12 years, he may have bothered to improve the conditions of the jails. Peoples’ representatives or just people are humans at the end of the day with the same needs! #Pakistan

There is not much to comment here, given how someone is commenting on the punishment their father is receiving, not a royal treatment. The conditions in Pakistani jails are worse than one can imagine. Nawaz Sharif and his family being in power couldn’t do much in terms of reforming the jails – why is his son complaining now?
Or is it merely just to get some attention or sympathy?
