Asking yourself how to live a healthy life is something we all often do. I started asking this question when I realized that exercising and eating healthy, while crucial, is an annoyingly limited view of what it means to live a healthy life. We’ll be answering this question all our lives but here’s the answer I have today.
A healthy life involves creativity. Sometimes we forget why we create or what value it provides in our lives. Creative pursuits, such as arts, dance, music, etc, have been proven to reduce stress and provide countless health benefits. Moreover, I think these activities are healthy as they help you contribute something to the world you live in.
Creativity also makes you a better problem solver. Obstacles and challenges throughout life are inevitable. However, creativity helps us learn new, resourceful ways of solving problems in life. It also keeps you grounded. People who spend their life creating understand the value of little things in life because they know how hard it is to make something valuable. They value great work. They live in the arena instead of judging from the crowd.
And perhaps, it is through the act of creating new experiences that we discover who we are and what is important to us.
Nobody dreams of typing at a keyboard (pun intended). Almost everything we’ve fantasized about involves a physical action: scoring the winning goal, traveling the world, building a house. To accomplish the things we dream about, we must become makers, explorers, and creators. We need to live physical lives. In other words, we are required to move and become active participants in life.
Too often, however, we take the opportunities that our health provides us with for granted. Not everyone chooses to live fully, but if you’re not physically fit then you can’t even make the decision if you wanted to.
Physicality is one of the best ways of improving your mind. Improving your body plays a vital role in improving your mind. Not everyone who is strong mentally pushes themselves physically and the other way around is even worse. I have yet to find someone who pushes themselves physically that isn’t mentally strong. The benefits of living a physical life are why I believe in strength training and why I focus on working to become the type of person who never misses a workout.
Connection with Society
The connection is the energy that exists among the people when they feel seen, heard, and valued. Human beings are the most social creatures on the planet. We all need someone to accompany us in our good and/or bad times. Fundamentally, we are here in connection. So, I have trouble believing that you are living a healthy life if it doesn’t involve the people you love.
The people you connect with will either make you or destroy you. Those who’ve already walked through the fire will help you become a better person and those who haven’t will make life seem impossible for you. So, be careful when choosing someone to connect with.
Human is one of the most curious creatures on the planet. Imagine the first year – or even 10 years of your life. Almost everything you were exposed to is something new. Each day brings a new discovery, something to learn, something to explore.
And then somehow, when we grow older, we begin to learn things by reading about them or watching them instead of by experiencing them. I believe there’s value in experiencing the world around us instead of just learning about me through books, T.V, or the internet.
These wonders of explorations are why everyone should travel around the world in search of new cultures, new ideas, and new technologies. Everyone should focus on learning things by living them.
Participating in the world around you helps you live a healthy life. The people who are living healthy, fulfilling lives are actively living instead of simply being alive.
Nobody ever figures out what life is about, and it doesn’t matter. Find yourself an activity and fall in love with it. Explore the world, nearly everything is really interesting if you go into it deeply enough.

Here in Pakistan, I’m getting ready for one of the coldest winters to come in the last 10 years. I’ll be doing my best to create, live a physical life (Football in the winters is fun), connecting with family and friends (Not that I have any left, but yeah), exploring everything around me by experiencing it, and participating in life.
