Due to stress, the level of stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol increases in your body. So, exercise is the most important thing that you can do to reduce stress. A regular 20-30 minutes physical activity lowers the level of stress hormones. Exercise can also improve your sleep and you may feel more competent and confident in your body which in turn promotes mental wellbeing. Try to find some easy exercise routine or activities you enjoy such as walking, dancing, climbing, and yoga.
2. USING ESSENTIAL OILS:
Using essential oils or lightened a scented candle can reduce your stress and anxiety. Some essential oils are especially soothing such as lavender, rose, sandalwood, orange or orange blossom and frankincense. Treat your mood by using scents is called aromatherapy. Several studies show that aromatherapy can decrease the level of stress and anxiety.
3. WRITE IT DOWN:
One way to deal with stress is to write it down. What you have stressed about is one approach but another approach is to write about the things that you are grateful for. Gratitude helps relieves stress and anxiety by focusing your thoughts on what positive things you have in your life.
4. CHEW GUM:
Chewing a gum is a quick stress reliever. Several studies showed that people who chewed a gum had a greater sense of well-being and lower stress. Another study shows that people when people chewed gum more strongly, their stress relief was greater.
5. SPEND TIME WITH YOUR PET:
Having a pet can reduce your stress and anxiety. Having a pet can relieve your stress by giving you purpose and keeping you active. Interacting with the pet may activate a happy hormone known as oxytocin that promotes a positive mood. Spending time with the pet is the enjoyable way to reduce stress.
