For making the teaching of the Holy Quran with translation compulsory across all provincial universities, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar constituted a seven-member committee of the Vice-Chancellors.
Addressing a press conference after a meeting with Vice-Chancellors at the Governor’s House, Sarwar said that students across all universities in Punjab will be taught the Holy Quran with meaning and translation. For this purpose, I convened a meeting of the Vice-Chancellors of all the universities and presented my proposal to them. We should teach the Holy Quran to the students in all the universities of Punjab with meaning so that they can take guidance from it and become a good person”.
