Karan Johar knows how to produce something that fits in the life of young loving adults. Because that’s what his new film “Gehraiyaan” tells everything.
As the trailer was released, it somehow gave the similar plot of the famous Karan Johar’s ‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ film that also holds the same storyline.
Gehraiyaan’s cast is no doubt power-packed with the amazing chemistry between Deepika Padukone and Siddhanth Chaturvedi. Amazon Prime is all set to release this epic young loving, betrayal film that touches sensitive threads of romance.
In conversation with the Gehraiyaan cast
The moment you start the movie trailer, you get the full flashback of the KANK like in the beginning Shahrukh Khan and Rani Mukherjee hit at the park. Some sort of same similarities takes place in Gehraiyaan too.
The story goes around with Alisha (Deepika Padukone) whose hard-working housewife who’s trying to maintain her love life with her husband Karan (Dhariya). There in comes her loving cousin Tia (Ananya Pandey) who got engaged with Zain (Siddhanth) and four of them go on a trip where things get unfold.
The story takes a huge turn when Zain’s casual flirting with Alisha turned out a serious affair and Tia finds out way later which creates things mess up.
On a digital trailer launch of the Gehraiyaan Karan said, “On the face of it, people might think it is a film on infidelity in relationships, but there is so much more to it.”
Shakun explained, “Gehraiyaan doesn’t have infidelity under the garb of finding a soulmate because I don’t think relationships work like that, it is more about finding yourself.”
Deepika, Siddhant, and Ananya shares the experience
Ranveer’s heart Deepika shares some fine words regarding the film. She said, “Alisha, my character in Gehraiyaan is extremely close to my heart and certainly one of the most challenging characters I have portrayed on screen.
I am grateful to have had the opportunity to play a role that was fun and challenging at the same time. Each of the characters’ struggles and arcs is real, raw, and relatable. We endeavor to take viewers on a journey they will relate to.”
Siddhant said at Gehraiyaan launch, “I am relatively new, and I haven’t played many characters yet. I am still exploring different characters and genres.
Gehraiyaan felt so layered and nuanced that I felt that the style of filmmaking is so different. I wanted to do it as it is very different from what I have done to date. It is quite layered and deep. I am romancing two beautiful women.”
Siddhant also grabbed some attention last year when he shared a playlist on an Instagram story and praised Shamoon Ismail’s new track. He wrote, “Shamoon Ismail Bhai” that said everything and spread his message.
Ananya Pandey debuted under the Dharma Production banner and in the sequel of Student of the year. Again she’s working with Dharma’s banner, she said “There’s a certain realness to the story of Gehraiyaan; while the film dives into the complexity of relationships it also talks about the thrill of being in love, of discovering oneself and charting ones’ path.”

In the end, Dharya Karwa went on to share his experience working with these talented people. He said, “The experience of working with such a talented cast and creators is one that I will cherish forever. I look forward to how the viewers react to the movie.”
The film is set to release on the 11th of February on Amazon Prime. So, mark your calendar because with the trailer it looks like something good is coming after a long time from Karan Johar.
