Several months after being confirmed, newcomer Iman Vellani is to lead the Ms. Marvel cast as the titular superhero. However, now the latest shots from the set have made the Internet go crazy!
The Marvel Studios’ original series is taking shape with each passing day. Back in November, we first saw Vellani suit up in what appeared to be a homemade Captain Marvel costume. But this is our first look at her actual comic-inspired outfit which understandably gets its own Marvel Cinematic Universe twist.
The photos, shared by Just Jared, reveal Vellani in full costume for the upcoming Disney+ show that focuses on Marvel’s first Muslim superhero, and a Pakistani-Canadian teenager. We spotted Vellani as Kamala Khan on the set of Ms. Marvel. Needless to say, the teenage actress looks like she came straight out of the comic book.
The 18-year-old donned a comic-inspired blue and red outfit. The photographs come out of Atlanta, Georgia, where production on the show is in full swing. Vellani could be seen filming alongside co-actor Rish Shah, who plays the role of Kamran.
The teenager is also known to write superhero fan fiction and sees Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) as her idol. Along with starring in Ms. Marvel, Vellani is also set to appear on the big screen in the upcoming MCU sequel Captain Marvel 2. There is no word yet on if Larson will also be appearing on Ms. Marvel.
