Allegations and accusations are parts of Pakistani politics and journalism. Whether journalists or politicians no one spares anyone when it comes to accusations. Earlier, Hamid Mir accused dr Firdous Ashiq Awan of corruption. To which Awan has now challenged Hamid to give her proofs.
In the news program ‘Naya Pakistan’ on Geo News, Mir alleged that Firdous recruited over 2 dozen people from his constituency into Press Information Department (PID).
When the PM discovered this, he ordered the expulsion of those recruited against laws, said Mir. He continued and said Firdous’s declaration about meddling in her ministry was also not true. As per Mir, PM Imran dismissed Yousuf Baig and Iftikhar Durrani because Awan; and she also wanted Shahbaz Gul’s dismissal.

Firdous Ashiq Awan’s challenge
On Sunday, PM’s former special assistant on information and broadcasting challenged anchorperson Mir to establish the accusations of corruption and abuse of power against her.
On Twitter, she questioned Mir to prove that she had abused her power while accepting appointments in the Press Information Department (PID).

“Hamid Mir sahib, your journalism experience is more than my political experience. Do not leave this matter here. Show me the domicile of my constituency among the appointments I did in PID. If you cannot do this, then you have to admit that Maulana Tariq Jameel was telling the truth. Sach Jaan Kar Geo (know the truth and live),” Awan said in a tweet.
Earlier, Maulana Tariq Jameel accused journalists of lying. To which, he had to apologize later to the media particularly Hamid Mir. Awan said if Hamid Mir failed to provide evidence of my corruption, it would mean Maulana Tariq Jameel was right.
Indeed, it is a challenge to the journalism of Hamid Mir. Now everyone on the mainstream and social media is waiting for his reply.
