Faysal Quraishi Criticized For Traumatizing His Son By Exposing Him To Violent Scene In A Drama

Faysal Quraishi

In a video posted by actor Faysal Quraishi, his son Farmaan reacts to a scene from his drama Dil-e-Momin in which he is beaten up, sparking mixed reactions on the internet. While some believed it was funny and cute, others thought otherwise.

The clip shared by Quraishi was from a scene shown in a recent episode of Dil-e-Momin where Gohar Rasheed has a go at Quraishi for allegedly harassing his student.

The scene showed Quraishi being beaten up and choked and his son began to wail at the sight of it. Many people took to the comment section of his post to tell him this event could traumatize his son.

Celebrities Faryal Mehmood, Sami Khan, and Nida Yasir all commented on the post and thought the child’s reaction was “adorable” and “cute”.

There were other people who cheered him on in the comment section and found the video funny but there were also several commenters who thought the video was not appropriate.

Several fans and followers said the child would be traumatized by watching his father being beaten up on the screen. It goes without saying that such a young child would likely not be able to understand that the violence was staged.

Not age-appropriate and clearly traumatizing

Many others said that the look on the child’s face was not anything to laugh about — he looked genuinely scared. They strongly felt that children should not be made to watch scenes that are not age-appropriate. “These scenes should be avoided in front of kids poor kid is so scared,” wrote one commenter.

Another highlighted that “children are so sensitive at this age. We can’t even imagine how their brain is processing such things.”

A child responding so seriously to something that is obviously fake may seem cute on the surface, but it has some inappropriate content. Seeing a fight would have been distressing for any young child. However, for Farmaan to see his father get beaten up would have been especially distressing.

It is important to remember that children view things from a different and far more innocent viewpoint than adults because we know that the things they are seeing are very obviously fake. Children could suffer from a traumatic experience as a result of something that makes adults laugh.

Quraishi recently talked about the difficulties women in showbiz face following the birth of their children, and how this has forced him to star with much younger leading ladies in his serials. The actor also encountered a horrendous car accident in Dubai earlier.
