The current Federal Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry announced the ‘biggest scholarship’ of Pakistan on Wednesday. He made the announcement in a meeting of the Standing Committee on Science and Technology.
In his enlightening announcement, the minister said that the government will accord scholarship from matriculation to Ph.D. During the meeting, he said that Rs10,000 per month will be awarded to 10 matric toppers of each district.
On the other hand, Rs12,000 per month has been planned to give to the first 10 toppers of each district.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Senator Mushtaq Ahmed.
In November last year, Chaudhry announced an animation and video games certification program for the youth. Recognizing the monetary importance of the gaming industry for the local economy, Chaudhry announced that his ministry will soon bring an exclusive program for individuals wanting to make a career in animation and video game programming.
He said, “If you are not interested in studying and are more inclined towards playing games than get ready. Ministry of Science and Technology is bringing an exclusive program for video game programming.”
Fawad Chaudhry’s continuous efforts to open new avenues for the youth
It is important to note that Chaudhry has always been keen to bring in new and more opportunities for the youth. He lately also advised the future of our nation to look beyond medicine.
“This will allow us to be a part of the $90 billion gaming industry. Animation and video games certification will not merely be a game. In fact, a game-changer for the youth of our country. This will certainly open new avenues for the youngsters of Pakistan and will also benefit the local economy,” he had said last year.
Chaudhry also shared a piece of advice for the students once who are obsessed with taking MDCAT and becoming a doctor.
He advised the students to forget about it, and instead, choose Biotech as a profession. According to the minister, fifteen years down the line, doctors as a profession will begin dying down.
Earlier today, the minister commended pop icon, Rihanna, for speaking up about the protest of farmers in India which has escalated in the last few months. He praised the icon for her stance, saying that she has earned the respect of farmers across the world.
