An earthquake of about 6.8 magnitudes shook eastern Tajikistan at 5:37 a.m. on Thursday. As per the Tajik authorities, which was felt in China and other neighboring countries.

Over the past few weeks, various countries are facing earthquake disasters and this time Tajikistan comes under the radar.

The heavy earthquake struck the mountainous Gorno-Badakhshan autonomous region which was earlier this month hit by a series of deadly avalanches.

Luckily the area isn’t populated that much and is mainly covered, it is home to a large lake, Sarez, which if disturbed could flood a vast area spanning several countries.

Earthquake Shook In Eastern Tajikistan

Last month, a heavy earthquake shoot Turkey and Syria which was predicted by a Dutch researcher Frank.

On Tajikistan’s earthquake situation, the authorities said that “there was no sign of the lake being disturbed by the earthquake.”

For the information, the epicenter was about 82 km (50.95 miles) from the nearest border with China and the effect of the earthquake was felt in various areas of China’s western Xinjiang region, including Kashgar and Artux, Chinese state television CCTV reported, putting its magnitude at 7.2.

One of the residents said that “many people rushed outside after being woken up by the earthquake, which was followed by at least two aftershocks.”

The good news is that no casualties took place either in Tajikistan or in China. As per the update, the power supply communication remained normal in Kashgar
