Good News For Pakistan As DRAP Approves Country’s First COVID-19 Testing Kit

Pakistan approves covid testing kits

Although Pakistan is an underdeveloped country, it made a significant scientific breakthrough. During the pandemic of coronavirus, one of the biggest challenges for Pakistan was testing kits. However, the country made its own COVID-19 testing kits.

Despite the vicious economic crisis, Pakistan toiled to tackle the lethal pandemic. The development came forward with the help of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) and several other scientists. The Minister for Science and Technology, Fawad Chaudhry announced the news on his official Twitter handle.

Huge relief for Pakistan

Earlier, Pakistan was importing kits from several countries. Although the country received some free kits from China and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), they were not ample. Hence, Pakistan was spending millions on importing testing kits.

The move will save Pakistan millions of rupees, which the country direly needs. Currently, in Pakistan, there are more than 125,900 coronavirus cases with above 2,000 deaths. The testing kits will also help the country in aggrandizing its daily COVID-19 tests.

The NUST had made around 1.5 million testing kits. The testing kits were forwarded to the Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) for approval.

The news brought joy across Pakistan and people on social media reacted to the news in the following manners:

Here’s what journalist Amber Rahim Shamsi said:

People are also waiting for ventilators and 3D printer alternates

Some are requesting for COVID antibodies testing kits

Exactly…

Above all, the deadly pandemic of coronavirus is causing a catastrophe on the whole of Pakistan. The testing kits will lessen the burden of government.
