A famous Pakistani doctor and motivational speaker, Dr. Affan Qiaser has raised concerns about the negative impact of some social media influencers on the younger generation. Dr. Qaiser, an Assistant Professor and Head of Gastroenterology in Multan, is famous for his health awareness and motivational videos. With a Facebook following of 4.2 million, he often speaks out against influencers promoting harmful content.
In a recent podcast with Muhammad Ali, Dr. Qaiser criticized popular creators like Ducky Bhai, Iqra Kanwal, and others for sharing content that he believes is damaging to society. He emphasized the need for responsible use of digital platforms, comparing positive content creators like Dr. Nazish and Dr. Farhat Hashmi to those who focus on sensationalism for views.

He said, “The line between what’s right and wrong is not clear on social media anymore. Instead of creating meaningful awareness, some influencers post content like jumping into pools with their families, painting their spouse’s face, or wearing each other’s clothes just for attention. They’ve shared everything about their lives on social media, leaving no boundaries. If they were from the West, they’d probably share even more private moments.”
Dr. Qaiser also expressed concern over the financial success of such influencers, claiming they earn millions of rupees monthly by producing content he considers harmful. He highlighted the opening of a restaurant by these creators and questioned the example they’re setting for young viewers.
He further criticized social media algorithms, explaining that they promote content that gains the most attention, regardless of its quality. “These algorithms push vulgar and inappropriate videos because that’s what most people are watching and discussing,” he added.
Dr. Affan Qaiser’s comments serve as a reminder to parents and young users to be cautious about the content they consume online.
