In a mysterious shooting incident, Dr. Syeda Maha Shah injured herself on Tuesday night. The incident took place at her Karachi residence on Tuesday night. Dr. Maha was later rushed to Jinnah Hospital in critical condition. However, as claimed by her family and police, she succumbed to her injury and died within a few hours. She was pronounced dead today.
It has been revealed that Dr. Maha used to work in a private hospital near Bilawal House in Clifton. She was associated with the South City Hospital and her father had rented the house just two weeks ago. Not only was she a doctor but also a public figure – a renowned Instagram influencer with a huge following.
According to the police, the family of the deceased claim that she committed suicide in her washroom on the first floor of the house. Whereas, the injury caused by the bullet fired from a pistol appeared to be on the backside of her head.
Moreover, the influencer shared her last post on Instagram just yesterday.
A tragic incident with riddles
It is to be noted that those who commit suicide, more often than not, place pistol either on their temple or forehead. However, this has not been the case with the 25-year-old Dr. Maha.
While investigating the case with different angles, the pistol and an empty cartridge have been taken from the scene as evidence. It is yet to be found who the weapon belongs to.
In addition to this, the incident reportedly took place due to a domestic dispute. Moreover, according to the police, the deceased had allegedly spoken harshly to her father before committing suicide. After which she took her own life in the washroom of the house.
Besides this, the reports also claim that Dr. Maha suffered from depression for an entire last month as her parent were divorced and married again.
It is also now known whether the pistol was licensed or not and who owned it. Meanwhile, her parents have refused to proceed with any probe into their daughter’s death. After medico-legal formalities, Dr. Maha’s body has been sent to her ancestral home in Mirpurkhas for burial.
