Your DNA Can Now Be Used As A Data Storage Device

We all fear about the loss of our precious data due to the unreliability of data storage methods.

But now it’s time to forget about the fear of data loss because science has found a method through which our data can remain safe even for thousands of years.

Coming straight to the point, back in 2012, a group of scientists at Harvard University successfully stored 5.5 petabytes of data in a single gram of DNA.

5.5 Petabytes is approximately 700 terabytes of data.

With this successful experiment, the latest innovation in computer data storage has been achieved and now, this method of storage has started to become increasingly popular, especially considering the fact that data stored in DNA can remain safe for a very long period of time.
