In an unfortunate turn of events, India’s famous Punjabi singer Diljaan Singh lost his life in a road accident on Tuesday morning. The 31-year-old rose to fame with the reality TV show Sur Kshetra in 2012.

Diljaan was the first runner-up on a Pak-India singing reality show. Moreover, he also participated in ‘Awaj Punjab di‘. Diljaan was traveling alone in his car when it met with an accident on Amritsar-Jalandhar highway near Jandiala Guru town near Amritsar.

According to the Indian media reports, the singer’s vehicle collided with a truck parked on the roadside. The singer, who belongs to Kartarpur, was found severely injured by passers-by and taken to a nearby private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Diljit was excited to release his upcoming songs

The singer was set to release his new songs. The last social media post of Diljaan reveals that the singer was excited for the release of his upcoming songs Tere Warge 2 & Hanju.

“Excited for song Tere Warge 2 & Hanju Coming v soon, stay tuned,” he had posted on his Instagram handle two days ago. Police have launched an investigation into the death of the singer and his body was sent for post-mortem.

Diljaan’s wife and children live in Canada. Several Punjabi music fellows paid rich tribute to Diljaan shortly after the news of his death broke out. Chief Minister of India, Amarinder Singh also expressed shock at the death of the young singer. He extended his condolences to the family, friends, and fans.

It may be recalled that in 2012, a tough competition was held between Pakistani and Indian singers in the music show Sur Kshetra. Atif Aslam and Abida Parveen hosted the event on behalf of Pakistan. More so, Pakistani singer Nabil Shaukat Ali came first in the finals and was declared the winner of the show.

Pakistan cricketing star Shoaib Malik earlier this year survived a horrific crash when his sports car rammed into a truck in Lahore. The 38-year-old encountered the accident just after attending the Pakistan Super League (PSL) draft event at PCB headquarters. Fortunately, Malik remained unhurt while his car suffered damage on its front side.
