As day passing on, progress coming forward regarding the biggest issue Pakistan Cricket Board recently faced. Days went and still the event looks fresh to anyone who loves cricket. Pakistan government doing its best to expose the person who is behind such unethical action.
Since New Zealand abandoned the series against Pakistan, there were few hints got by the government which they tried to express in the press conference.
First, Sheikh Rashid did a press conference in which he gave a hint about who’s actually behind this coward move. But today Fawad Chaudhry has revealed the major information which exposed the person and the country who spread false news about the threat.
The government officials have found the device or say tracked it down which belongs to none other than our neighbor country “India”.
The moment he exposed India, everyone knew that in this act only India involved as they couldn’t tolerate the rise of cricket back in Pakistan.
Fawad Chaudhry: Device Used To Send Threat Belongs To India
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry on Wednesday has said, that “the device used to send a threat to the New Zealand cricket team belonged to India.”
In Islamabad during a press conference along with the Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed he cleared the air with a proper background story and shared the proof of the incidents too.
Fawad Chaudhry said, “the entire situation started due to a fake post by someone claiming to be Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militant Ehsanullah Ehsan.”
Fawad said that “in August, a fake post created under Ehsan’s name which told the New Zealand cricket board and government to refrain from sending the team to Pakistan as it would be “targeted”.”
The Sunday Guardian & MJ Akber
The story came from the Sunday Guardian written by Abhinav Mishra claiming that the team may face a terror threat in Pakistan citing the fake post by Ehsan.
But fun fact, the Sunday Guardians founded by MJ Akber who participated as the minister for external affairs in the Modi-led BJP government till 2018.
Fawad Chaudhry continued by saying, “Interestingly, [Mishra] has strong links with [former Afghanistan vice president] Amrullah Saleh.”
An Email To Guptil’s Wife & Expose
Fawad Chaudhry revealed more information, on the 24th of August the New Zealand opener Martin Guptil received an email threatening her husband from the ID and username “Tehreek-i-Labbaik”, he said.
“When we investigated further, we discovered some facts. Firstly, this email is not affiliated with any social media network […] and only one email has been generated from this account,” he said.
The minister added that the email was sent via ProtonMail, a secure service. “The details [of the email] are not available and we have requested Interpol to assist us and tell us how it was generated.”
Despite these events, the New Zealand cricket team did not cancel the tour at this point and traveled to Pakistan. “As the interior minister said, the security we provided outnumbered the number of people in their forces,”
Fawad Chaudhry also revealed, that once Blackcaps arrived in Pakistan and the interior minister shared every detail of the protocol program. And right after that the team even went for a practice session which caused no trouble at all.
Threat Day After Cancellation
A day later, a second threatening email was sent to the New Zealand team using the ID, Hamza Afridi.
He said that when authorities probed the email, they discovered that it was sent from a device associated with India. “It was sent using a virtual private network (VPN) so the location was shown as Singapore.”
He said that the same device had 13 other IDs, nearly all of which were Indian names. “All IDs made using the names of Indian actors and celebrities. Only the name Hamza Afridi is different to show that this email was generated from Pakistan.
“His name used deliberately to show that a terrorist threat is present in Pakistan.”
He said that the user of the particular device identified as Omprakash Mishra from Maharashtra. “The device used to send the threat to the New Zealand team belonged to India.
A fake ID used but sent it from Maharashtra.”
The minister added that the interior ministry had registered a case and had requested Interpol for assistance. And information on the Tehreek-i-Labbaik ProtonMail and the ID of Hamza Afridi. “This whole threat primarily generated from India.”
He said that the West Indies team was traveling to Pakistan in December. Even at that time, the threat issued to the team.
“This is unfortunate. We believe this is a campaign against international cricket. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and other bodies must take notice,” he said.
England Followed New Zealand’s Footsteps
Fawad Chaudhry also commented on England who also followed the same footsteps of Kiwis and canceled the T20 match series tour.
Fawad said that “British High Commissioner Christian Turner made it clear that, the United Kingdom government’s advisory for Pakistan not being changed.”
“So if the government has no reservations, who is the English Cricket Board [to cancel the tour]?
He added that he had asked Pakistan Television to evaluate the financial losses it had suffered. “We are working on this and if our legal team permits, we will sue the ECB,” he said.
One way or another after Pakistani intelligence exposed India and its bad plan. It was clear from the beginning whose behind this whole drama to defame Pakistan and its cricket.
