Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is currently enjoying some free time these days due to lockdown in India. The diva is cooking, baking and spending time with her husband. She recently also uploaded a series of her most heard songs during the lockdown and it turns out, Abida Parveen’s Coke Studio version of Chaap Tilak is one of them.
One of the masterpieces of Coke Studio is sung by legendary Abida Parveen and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
The legendary singers sang the famed qawwali in Coke Studio season 7 in 2014. Strings had produced the song which became an instant hit and it is still one of the peoples’ favorites. There is a huge contrast between the two singers as both have a different style of singing. But, Coke Studio brought the two together to create the magic. The song was shot in one go and there were no retakes.
Last year, actor, host, and activist Jada Pinkett Smith had also expressed her fondness towards the Pakistani singers and the Chaap Tilak song. Taking to Instagram, she had shared the Coke Studio song. She tagged the artists and said in her post, “Abida Parveen and Rahat Fateh Ali Khan are two of my favorite vocalists of Sufi music. This song [qawwali] is called ‘Chaap Tilak’. You can go to YouTube to check out the lyrics. They are beautiful.”
However, turns out Abida Parveen and Rahat ‘Chaap Tilak’ is now on Deepika’s list and wow, Deepika has some taste.
Deepika enjoying quarantine
Moreover, Deepika has been constantly sharing about how she is spending her time in quarantine. DeePee shared the whole list of songs she is hooked onto right now on Instagram. It also includes songs from Bollywood films Padmaavat, Lootera, Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Highway and Ye Jawani Hai Deewani.
Apart from songs, the actress has been indulged in cooking, staying fit and (of course) pampering her actor husband Ranveer Singh.
Furthermore, just a few days ago Deepika turned a ‘masterchef’ and treated husband Ranveer to a scrumptious meal. Ranveer took to Instagram stories and shared a string of photographs of how he is enjoying his time with wifey. Ranveer and Deepika have actively been sharing glimpses from their personal life amid lockdown.
Not only Deepika, but many Pakistani celebrities have also been spending their time at home in style. Most of the celebrities are finding solace in showing their culinary skills.
