Pakistan’s deaf squash player Sana Bahadur has won the first PSA title of her career after beating Australia’s Rachael Grinham 3-1 in the final of the PSA Challenger 3K Bendigo Open 2026 in Melbourne. The tournament was held from August 13 to 16 at the Bendigo Squash Centre, with a total prize pool of $3,000.
Sana, 20, is from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and has been making her name in squash for several years. She is a deaf athlete and has continued to compete in a sport where communication, focus and quick reactions are important. Her journey has taken her from national competitions to the international PSA circuit, where she has steadily improved her ranking and gained more experience.
Her win in Australia was especially notable because she defeated Grinham, a former world No. 1, in the final. Sana entered the tournament ranked around No. 203 in the world, making the result an important win against a much more experienced opponent.
The Pakistan Squash Federation congratulated Sana on the victory, calling it another proud moment for Pakistan Squash. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also praised her achievement and said she had made the country proud.
For Sana, the Bendigo Open title is a big step forward. It adds an international PSA trophy to her record and puts further attention on a young Pakistani player who has continued to build her career through hard work and competition.
