There are many people who read Urdu poetry because of the poets, they share similarities with the poet which makes them read their work. Communita Pakistan, country’s first storytelling platform is bringing “Dastan-e-Shayar” (Tales of the poets) web-series on Youtube.
The series comprises of documentaries on the life and work of Urdu poets such as Mirza Ghalib, Mir Taqi Mir, Mohsin Naqvi, Jaun Elia, Parveen Shakir and many others. The aim of this webseries is to revive poetry reading among people so that the youth gets to know about the beauty of Urdu language.
We see teenagers complaining about their school-college Urdu syllabus and how explanations of these Shayaris give them a tough time and they end up scoring less in Urdu subject. The founder of Communita Pakistan, Mr.Shan Rajput believes that the best way to overcome this is to promote Urdu Shayari through modern mean like Youtube, this is the best medium to convey the desired message. We hope students will start scoring more in their Urdu exams once this web series hit the internet.
The team behind Dastan-e-Shayar consists of students from SZABIST Karachi who share great passion for Urdu poetry and they are always seen attending mushairas and arranging literature events.
