Yet another soul-wrenching sexual assault case of a minor is brought to the limelight. A 3-year-old girl was subjected to rape and left battling for life in the Dadu district of Sindh, on Wednesday, the age of the abuser shocked everyone.
According to the family, the child had gone out to play. Subsequently, the suspect took her to his house and sexually assaulted her. “When we called the police, he refused to come out of the house,” the three-year-old’s uncle said.
Following this, the station house officer of the area broke into the house and arrested the rape suspect. The victim, the daughter of a laborer, was immediately rushed to a hospital by a policewoman. She was admitted to Dadu Civil Hospital in critical condition.
Police led by SHO of women police station Benazir Jamali reached the victim’s house after hearing the loud cries of the victim’s mother on seeing her child bleeding abundantly.
“When we reached the hospital, there wasn’t a single doctor after which the SHO became angry,” Benazir Jamali, a police officer said. The three-year-old has been moved to a hospital in Hyderabad after her condition was declared critical.

The suspect is an 18-year-old
Dadu SSP Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh arrived at the hospital to enquire about the victim’s health. He revealed that by age, an 18-year-old abuser, had raped the 3-year-old girl in Dadu, the family is in shock.
He said the SHO brought the girl to the gynecological ward of the hospital. Meanwhile, the police continued interrogating the rape suspect at B-Section police station. More so, he added that if there were other accomplices in the sordid crime they too would be arrested. He vowed that justice would be provided to the victim’s family.
As of now, the suspect is in police custody and is being questioned. A case has been lodged against the suspect and further interrogation is underway.
In the meantime, the residents of the area have come out to the streets in protest. In addition, they demand the perpetrator to be hanged in public.
This horrific case comes months after the ghastly incident that shocked the entire nation. A Karachi woman and her four-year-old daughter were allegedly gang-raped by men in the Kashmore area of Sindh. The woman had traveled to the city from Karachi after the main suspect duped her on a job offer.
Yet another day, another rape case, and another cry for justice. Last year, five-year-old Marwah was kidnapped, tortured, raped, and killed and the list goes on. It is utterly disappointing to see Pakistani officials not doing enough to stem violence against kids and women.
