Cyclone Threat Deep Depression Near Karachi

The Pakistan Meteorology Department (PMD) reported that a deep depression in the Arabian Sea, 200 kilometers southeast of Karachi, is moving towards the Sindh coast. This depression may intensify into a cyclone later today, bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms to Karachi and surrounding areas within the next 24 hours.

PMD Director General Mehar Sahibzada Khan mentioned that the cyclone, named Asna, formed off the Karachi-Gwadar coast and could lead to heavy rainfall in western coastal areas. He noted that southern areas might see better weather in two days, but heavy rains are expected in parts of Sindh, including Karachi, until August 31.
