There’s an old saying, “Save your skin from the corrosive acids from the mouths of toxic people”.
The people you feel are toxic and are still around you, might be pulling you down, keeping you away from reaching your goals by negatively commenting on you or it could be anything that’s hurting you and your self-esteem. Maybe, they’re threatened by the idea of your growth, or there could be a number of reasons for which they are sabotaging your happiness. Whatever the reasons are, their frustrated behavior is toxic for your life and it’s probably the right time to think about why you need to cut them out of your life, and that too, immediately!
First Identify Who’s Truly Toxic
Identifying such individuals and knowing how to manage them is very crucial for your well-being and happiness. But, you need to carefully understand if the person you think is toxic, is actually toxic for you or not.
We’re talking about toxicity — the kind that metastasizes, and creates uncertainty in your life. Some people could be just knowingly annoying or simply unpleasant but not toxic. Similarly, for a toxic family member, you will need to work on a little bit, but cutting them off doesn’t apply here.
However, it’s impossible for toxic people to completely sabotage your happiness and progress, but it wouldn’t be wrong to say that it is harmful.
Why And How To Cut Off Toxicity?
So, would you want someone in your life who is constantly opposed to your progress or happiness? The answer, of course, is no. But sometimes, it’s not so easy, it requires a lot of courage..
Here are some antidotes along with some encouraging quotes that’ll help you in getting rid of them.
1- Keep Them At Distance:
Keep them at distance from you and from your thoughts. Don’t let what they think or say, influence your thoughts. When you’ll stop listening to them, they’ll stop saying it. Remember, to cut off means reducing their power over you.
“Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your mind, feelings, and emotions”.

“If they disrespect you to your face imagine what they’re doing behind your back”.
3. Focus On Your Objective:
Focus on the solution of your problems. It doesn’t matter what they think about you if they don’t care what you think about them. Remind yourself you’re teaching them that their old behavior will no longer work.
“Don’t let negative and toxic people rent space in your head. Raise the rent and kick them out”.
4. Surround Yourself With Positive People:
Make efforts to make your bonding stronger with positive people instead of worrying about negative people.
“He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm, Let go of the friends who are no longer uplifting you. Spend time with people who inspire you to be better”.
5. Be Happy And Move On:
Be happy and move on with your life. Avoid negativity, from within and without.
“Avoid negative people, for they are the greatest destroyers of self-confidence and self-esteem”.
