Yesterday, Cristiano Ronaldo and Manchester United have decided to end their acrimonious relationship and the news was confirmed by the club itself.
Cristiano Ronaldo & Manchester United Part Ways
The Portuguese star makes disparaging remarks against the club in an explosive TV interview just before he left to represent Portugal in the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.
Cristiano Ronaldo said he felt “betrayed” by the club and had no respect for new manager Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United announced their split with a terse statement on its various social media channels.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” the club said in its statement on Tuesday.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family well for the future,” it added in the statement.

Cristiano also issued his own statement, Ronaldo said: “Following conversations with Manchester United we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.
“I love Manchester United and I love the fans, that will never ever change. However, it feels like the right time for me to seek a new challenge.
“I wish the team every success for the remainder of the season and for the future.” Ever since Ronaldo’s second spell began, things didn’t go in his favor, and even lost his form. He even walked out of the tunnel at the ending time and refused to get substituted.
