Yes! You heard it right, it looks like this case now legit has something to come out as a pure result.
Because it’s been long this case is rolling like dice and stopping at various statements released by Meesha Shafi. No doubt, this case has grabbed many of the people’s attention and even became one of the main cases under the banner of the “Metoo” movement.
Meesha Shafi looked so happy after the Lahore High Court announced their decision and she immediately took her happiness to Twitter.

For those who have no idea about Meesha Shafi and Ali Zafar’s big case. Then here’s the background brief for you people. In 2019, Meesha Shafi filed a defamation case against Ali Zafar for harassing her and she even launched an online campaign too.
Soon Meesha Shafi let out her words, Ali Zafar came on a private news channel and said that “she’s a liar”.
She made it all up, regarding sexual harassment to obtain fame and Canadian immigration. He further stated that Meesha wanted to “become another Malala Yousafzai”.
Right after such comments, things got heated and Meesha even released her statement in detail. In her statement, she said “The first and foremost reason [for breaking silence] is that I’m ready. I have started talking to people and divulging my experience.
I’m finding it hard on my conscience to stay silent any longer than this because I’m seeing such brave girls and women speaking up – not just around the world – but here as well. It’s not easy.
They are not public figures and I think it can be harder for me, in a way, but it’s hard for everyone. The more I think about it, the more I realize that if I don’t go public, nothing will change. It was eating away at me.”

In her recent statement, Meesha Shafi came up with something new. During cross-checking the whole scenario, as per her in 2017 during rehearsal Ali groped her.
When she was asked during trial her statement was, “Yes, even I am not an eye witness to this incident. I felt it [but] I did not see it.”

Soon Messha Shafi’s got the verdict in her favor as got the stay order. Ali Zafar has argued that “Meesha’s suit should have stayed until a separate defamation case filed by him is decided upon.
However, the Lahore High Court has overturned this order by accepting a civil revision challenge which has stated that the cause of action of the two suits is sufficiently different and the trial against Ali Zafar can proceed. Meesha Shafi’s legal team has been allowed to pursue the case against Ali Zafar.”
Meesha Shafi took her winning moment and celebration to Twitter where she expressed her feelings. She wrote, “It’s been an incredibly difficult 4 YRS for me and everyone standing by my side.
It took us 4 long, discouraging years to get 1 single case going while being attacked by multiple cases which galloped along with full speed ahead. This is not equality! But my family, legal team”.
