A coronavirus patient celebrated his birthday as he turned 71 while being treated at a hospital in Peshawar on Monday. Doctors and the medical staff fulfilled his wish to celebrate the birthday with the staff and patients.

The resident of Peshawar, Asad Naveed requested the hospital staff to let him celebrate his birthday while he was being treated at the Hayatabad Medical Complex. The occasion was participated by doctors as well, who wished him best wishes.

Naveed celebrates his birthday every year with his family. His family members also sent him good wishes and prayers for early recovery.

Finance and Health Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Taimur Jhangra also shared the video with a caption, “Something that makes everyone smile.” A seven-second video has been viewed and retweeted over hundred of times on Twitter.

People are also praising doctors and front line medical staff of the hospital for bringing smiles on an old man’s face as he battles coronavirus.

Apart from several politicians and actors, dozens of doctors and paramedics have also contracted coronavirus. Doctors have been opposing the lifting of a prolonged lockdown, fear the worst is about to come. They have also condemned Prime Minister Imran Khan‘s decision for taking wrong decisions.

“June and July are very crucial as we expect a sharp rise in already fast-increasing coronavirus cases in the country,” according to Qaisar Sajjad, secretary-general of Pakistan Medical Association. “I don’t foresee good days ahead vis-a-vis coronavirus cases. They are going to shoot up in the coming weeks,” he said.

The country has already a fragile health system that might collapse following the expected rise in COVID-19 cases.
