Yesterday, Twitter CEO Elon Musk’s blue tick removal policy was implemented and lots of celebrities lose their blue tick mark.
From celebrities to politicians to sports athletes are blue tick-less. These celebrities lost their blue tick because of not upgrading their subscription plan.
For those who don’t know, last year Elon Musk out of nowhere updated the price of blue tick verification and stunned everyone.
Elon Musk’s this high profile move will force celebrities and influencers to get a new subscription plan for $8 each month.
From King Khan to Babar Azam every single reputed celebrity lost their blue tick identity.
Celebrities Lose Twitter Blue Tick Mark:
The blue tick differentiates between common and celebrities. It even helped people to identify which one was real or fake. However, ever since Elon Musk took charge of Twitter, he changed the whole policies of the company.
He even fired higher authorized people and hundreds of employees as well.
His removal of the blue tick surely surprised everyone; many prominent celebrities are now tick-less. RRR star Ram has joined many celebrities like Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rahul Gandhi.
Twitter active celebrities such as cricketers M S Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, fiction writer Chetan Bhagat, and South heavyweight Rajnikanth, lost their blue ticks because they did not pay for the subscription service.
Pakistani Celebrities With No Blue Tick:
Coming to Pakistani celebrities, Shehzad Roy, Shaniera Akram, Shoaib Malik, Osman Khalid Butt, Kubra Khan, Bilal Ashraf, and Armeena Khan also lost their blue ticks.
The former premier of Pakistan, Imran Khan, has also lost his verified status on Twitter. Nobel Prize laureate and activist Malala Yousafzai is no longer verified as well. Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz leader Maryam Nawaz Sharif have also lost their blue ticks.
The research by an independent researcher, Travis Brown suggested that only about 4.4% of Twitter’s legacy verified accounts had subscribed to Twitter Blue so far.
