Pakistan’s veteran actress and singer Bushra Ansari judged the singing reality show “Pakistan Idol” back in 2013, which became a big disaster for the upcoming singers. After that show, no one knew where those singers had gone.
Pakistanis thought that it would reach another level just like Indian idol which has become one of the biggest singing reality shows in India.
Bushra Ansari recently appeared on Tabish Hashmi’s talk show ‘Hasna Mana Hai’ where the actress shared every bit of details about the show and also revealed that some contestants were selected just for comedic effect.
Bushra Ansari And Pakistan Idol
While talking to Tabish, Bushra Ansari shared that “Pakistan Idol definitely played its part in showcasing some undoubtedly talented singing, some parts of the show were completely staged. The main purpose was to sell the show in a way that stands according to the standards of the international show Pop Idol.”
When Tabish Hashmi asked her about the harsh and rude comments. Ansari said that while Kiani had a balanced attitude towards strictness and being disrespectful, Azmat could play the rude critical judge part very well. However, for her, the critique part was the hardest.
“I even asked the management to fire me because I couldn’t treat people harshly. That’s not me,” she said.
Take Inspiration From Sunidhi Chauhan
Bushra Ansari further revealed that the makers showed her the videos of Bollywood playback singer and judge of Indian Idol Sunidhi Chauhan to take some real inspiration.
“She was thrashing the contestants. She would shout and yell,” she said.
While concluding, she also added that the mere show was not just scripted but several contestants there were merely included for comedy effects and were not meant to be taken seriously. Ansari, however, did not take any names.
A similar kind of show was held on another Pakistani channel, where a contestant blasted Hamza Ali Abbassi for his harsh comments.
