Changan Motors has been in the automobile industry for quite some time, and after becoming one of the top ones among the leading companies, it has made a name for itself that needs no other validation. The brand name Changan is actually two words of Chinese coming together, Chang and An. CHANG means lasting, and AN implies safety. Changan dates back about 158 years in its industrial production and about 40 years in its Changan motor manufacturing of passenger cars.
The Company Logo
The old logo for the company of Changan was a shield and a spear, which had the logic of ensuring speed with the utmost safety. The new logo however is a big V, which translates to Victory and Value, giving the impression of their success and the morals they have for their customers.
History
Changan dates back to 1862, not necessarily for the automobiles that we know now. It was started by Li Hongzhang as a military supply factory, known as the Shanghai Foreign Gun Bureau. The factory was basically set up in Shanghai but was later moved to Chongqing when the Sino-Japanese war started, in1937.
After that, in 1959, Chongqing Chang’an Arsenal came forward with manufacturing and building Changjiang Type 46 vehicle, marking it the first vehicle made solely in China. Changan’s minicar was then introduced, which was licensed by Suzuki.
Fast forward to the 2000s, Changan had by then acquired a couple of domestic automakers like Hafei and Changhe. And then, by the 2010s, Chang’an had become one of the four most auto parts producing car manufacturers in the Chinese automobile niche, and they had a profit of about 2.38 million units.
At this point, it was evident and indispensable for the Chang’an group of manufacturers to revamp their brand and define their brand identity better. So the company underwent some changes like releasing their new logo for its consumers to know them better by.
Being one of the top four car manufacturers among the domestic businesses, Chang’an still managed to total up their productions to over two million whole vehicles in 2011.
From there, they started focusing more on the production of passenger vehicles. And they dedicated almost 72% of all their manufacturing to it. The 28% was very much dedicated towards the micro vans and tiny commercial trucks that are very popular in China.
Then coming around 2012, Changan Motors took a leap forward and in November, they divided Changan Ford Mazda Automobile into two new ventures, Changan Ford and Changan Mazda.
Changan also promised that by 2025, they will be manufacturing and selling only fully-electric vehicles, this was back in 2017.
They had vouched to play their part in a better environment and in doing so had declared to end their production and sales of fuel-combustion vehicles, the ones that work on gasoline and diesel, also the hybrid ones, the plug-in hybrids, by 2015.

5- Sedan car – Alsvin
Master Changan Motors Limited has boastfully unveiled the latest production, Pakistan’s first Euro-5 Smart sedan car, the Changan Alsvin, at Karachi’s press interview on 11th December, 2020 at the Marriott Hotel.
The Changan Alsvin is the most anxiously anticipated sedans by car enthusiasts and mass-market buyers. The design language of the Changan Alsvin displays it as a ‘smart sedan’ due to its unmatched technology, support, and luxury, all while furnishing the agility of a hatchback, and that too at an approachable price – truly standing by its motto – “Drive Your Dreams.”
Danial Malik – CEO of Master Changan Motors – revealed some of the exclusive characteristics, “The Alsvin brings the Pakistani consumers an impressive array of automotive technology that is being introduced in Pakistan these include; Pakistan’s first Euro5 engine, Dual-Clutch Automatic Transmission, Start-Stop Technology (SST), Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and a 7 inch Human Machine Interface (HMI) that allows the user to reconfigure multiple functions such as air conditioning, lighting, and locks.”
He added, “The Alsvin will provide the best value in its class with features that previously did not exist in the subcompact sedan segment such as the Electronic Sunroof, Cruise Control, Powerful Projector headlamps, Super Electronic Power Steering (Super EPS), reverse camera coupled with parking sensors and dynamic guidelines and heated side view mirrors.”
It is appropriate to mention that the vehicle will be very reliable due to its high tensile body, twin airbags, seatbelts, and the smart projector headlamp, which doesn’t require an additional fog lamp.
Engine
The Alsvin is powered by a Bluecore VVT 1.37L (95 hp & 135nm torque) or 1.5L (105 hp & 145nm torque) engine, which goes hand in hand with a wonderful front grill giving it an assertive yet elegant exterior. Simultaneously, the interior has a sporty cockpit that is balanced with a luxurious ivory beige cabin.
