What else does this country want? One of the greatest minds in the tech world Bill Gates arrives in Pakistan for the first time.

It’s the headline of the day because no one saw it coming and surely it’s one of the greatest things that happened in the past decade.

Bill Gates has been the big face in the tech world and also in solving environmental issues of the world. Apart from Microsoft, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has been offering its services in reducing health diseases from the underdeveloped countries and putting every effort to make the world a better place.

He came for a long day visit and met Prime Minister Imran Khan. During the meeting, he has discussed some major things with Imran Khan.

Bill Gates first visited the anti-polio program, where Chief Dr. Shehzad Baig briefed the whole program. And he also shared the preventions taken regarding polio and Covid-19 in the country.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan took this moment to his Twitter account and welcomed Bill Gates.

“It is a pleasure to welcome Mr. Bill Gates on his first-ever visit to Pakistan. Planned engagements include review of progress on polio eradication; visits to NCOC and Ehsaas program as well as meeting the President, the PM and health leadership of the provinces.”

Gates then visited the NOC where he met the body’s head Asad Umar and SAPM Dr. Faisal Sultan. Gates attended the morning session along with his delegates where he’s been notified about the forum’s role, methodology, achievements since the start of the pandemic and the current situation in the country.

In a statement, he said “A comprehensive review of Pakistan’s efforts against Covid-19 was presented to visiting delegation. The visiting delegation was also briefed on genome sequencing (prevalence of various variants in the country).”

Gates also didn’t hesitate to appreciate Pakistan’s effort during the hardest time of Covid-19 despite knowing the fact of lack in resources regarding Covid-19.

In response, Asad Umar also thanked Gates and his foundation for the impressive efforts and support they have provided in Pakistan in Covid-19 times.

Asad Umar also shared his thoughts on hosting Bill Gates, he wrote “Hosted @BillGates at the NCOC this morning. Shared with him the work which has been done for covid response in Pakistan and the role played by @OfficialNcoc. Thanked him for the support provided by @gatesfoundation. He was appreciative of the covid response effort in Pakistan.”

PM Imran Khan himself thanked Bill Gates and his foundation for its continued support and partnership with the Government of Pakistan in polio eradication. “Pakistan is providing full support for the sake of 40 million Afghan people in need of basic amenities,” the prime minister informed the philanthropist.

Later, President Arif Alvi granted Hilal-e-Pakistan to Gates for his extraordinary services to the people of Pakistan, especially for the eradication of polio. The award was given at the special investiture ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, attended by Begum Samina Alvi, federal ministers, and senior officials.

Bill Gates has been in link with Pakistan in different areas, last year Pakistan’s government and Bill Gates announced the digital payment system program.
