Muslims across the world are asking to ban the movie, ‘Muhammad: The Messenger of God’. Reportedly, as per some clerics, the movie depicts untrue teachings and events. Although the movie was released in 2015, people on Twitter want a ban on the movie.
The Movie
Muhammad: The Messenger of God is an Islamic film, released in 2015. Majid Majidi directed the movie which is co-written with Kambuzia Partovi. The Iranian made film is one of the biggest-budge production movies of Iranian cinema.
The film is about the main event of Islam during the reign of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). However, soon after the release of the film, many clerics issued a fatwa against the director and the movie.
The film saw a widespread criticism before its release. In February 2015, Egypt’s Al-Azhar University asked Iran to disallow the movie. The University said that the film reports the lower the status of the sanctity of Prophets from God. Abdul-Aziz ibn Abdullah Al-Shaykh, Grand Mufti, Saudi Arabia criticizes the film.
He said, “the film depicts the Prophet in an ‘untrue light'” He added, ” it undermines the important role he plays in Islam. The film stands a mockery of the Prophet and degradation of his status.”
Moreover, the Saudi Muslim World League (MWL) also condemned the film. Mainly, it criticized it for showing the body and character of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
In addition, Barelvi Raza Academy issued a fatwa and asked to ban the film. The academy issued fatwa against the film core writer A.R. Rahman and director Majid Majidi.

In conclusion, Muslims are willing to die for the holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Making a film against him is totally unacceptable for the Muslims.
