Renowned Turkish stars from the historical drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul Nurettin Sönmez aka Bamsı Beyrek and Ayberk Pekcan aka Artuk Bey arrived in Pakistan earlier this week with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu. The trio is on a three-day visit, and Pakistani fans are absolutely loving them, especially their best-loved Bamsi who speaks in Urdu and wins hearts.
The historic Turkish blockbuster is very popular in Pakistan. It earned heroic status after Pakistan Television (PTV) telecast a version dubbed in Urdu. As the show is based on the life and times of the 13th-century, it took the nation by storm.
Pakistanis not only love the storyline of the show but are also obsessed with the cast. Within days of the first telecast, the fan following for the series and its actors surged. Owing to their outstanding performances, many Turkish actors from this show became a household name in Pakistan.
Sönmez, 43, gained massive popularity with the character of Bamsı Beyrek in Diriliş: Ertuğrul and its sequel Kuruluş: Osman. On the other hand, Pekcan is the Turkish actor who essayed the role of Artuk Bey in the historical drama series.
The two actors attended a ceremony at the Pak-Turk Maarif school in Islamabad along with the Turkish FM. Cavusoglu addressed the campus faculty as well as administration and commended their sincere efforts for ensuring quality education for both nations.
Both the actors specially Bamsi wins the hearts of their Pakistani fans who speak in Urdu and pleasantly interact with them. In fact, Pakistani fans were surprised and more than delighted to see Sönmez aka Bamsi speak in Urdu. In addition to this, the actors are being praised for their down-to-earthness. So much so, that Bamsi is trending on Twitter.

Turkish actors from the historical drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul seem keen to impress their Pakistani fans. Not only do they more than often respond to their fans but also try to learn Urdu to bewitch them.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday, President Dr. Arif Alvi has also conferred Hilal-e-Pakistan on Turkish Foreign Minister in recognition of his services for international peace. As well as for security and further strengthening of the Pakistan-Turkey bilateral relationship.
Last month in December 2020, the leading actor of a popular Turkish TV series, Engin Altan Duzyatan arrived in Pakistan. Fans were delighted with the actor’s arrival and warmly greeted him.
