Pakistani Cricket fans recently faced some bad news regarding the mega event Pakistan Super League(PSL) postpone due to coronavirus cases and mismanagement.
Although PCB took immediate actions, even declared new dates for the PSL to resume and let the fans again enjoy the cricket festival.
On the other hand, the Pakistan cricket team also ready for their upcoming tours to South Africa and Zimbabwe. Pakistan should face bigger teams to boost up their performance for major tournaments.
last year Pakistan faced Zimbabwe and defeated them with high margin already.
Experimenting with such players over small teams wouldn’t create much impact on the performance level at all.
Such series with small teams wouldn’t give them all these things to compete in events such as World T20.
South Africa faced the disasterous defeat against the host Pakistan. But Pakistin’s visit might bring some difficulties for national side; as African pitches aren’t the same at all.
Home series helped some stars to come back with the bang such as Fawad Alam and Hasan Ali. Both showcased their true class of cricket, after being away from international cricket for a long time and secured their spot.
Babar Azam Not Happy With The Selection Board
The skipper showcased his unhappy behavior to the media regarding the team selection and he got “disappointed”
Babar Azam surely shared his feelings regarding the T20 squad, “there are way too many changes in the T20 Squad.”
He also mentioned that he will visit the higher authorities to discuss the matter especially with the Chief Selector “Mohammed Wasim”.
The skipper’s major concern falls around those players who didn’t get enough chance in the last series, dropping them from the upcoming series altogether won’t be fair.
It’s not just Babar Azam, even the former cricket players have also shared their expert opinions regarding the team selection and stood with the skipper.
Among the dropped players, Imad Wasim also included which Babar Azam surely wanted him in the team.
Chief Selector To Media
In response, the Chief Selector Mohammed Wasim called up a press conference, where he cleared the air to calm the storm.
He shared everything regarding the skipper Babar Azam’s concern and other rumors spread all over the media channels.
He said, “There was no deadlock in the selection process and the players were selected with his consultation,” further he said on the “player power” element, “I do not believe in this terminology of player power and this is wrong to [state as the reason] if someone is dropped from the team.”
Not selected in the squad, Shoaib Malik, Wahab Riaz, Shan Masood, Imad Wasim, and Yasir Shah. According to the chief selector, “Masood needs to work on his batting technique. We observed n New Zealand that he was getting out similarly [a couple of times], others were not selected due to their poor performances.”
Let’s have a look at the National Cricket Team squad for the upcoming series.

Looking at the squad, it seemed like the selection board doesn’t want the national team to win any away series.
Because they aren’t quitting experiments by letting inexperienced young players.
It would be great to use them against Zimbabwe and use experienced ones against South Africa.
But more importantly, the Pakistan cricket board should focus on building a strong T20 team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
The way Mohammed Wasim responded to Babar Azam’s unhappy behavior related to selection, it seemed like our board quite not interested in taking the skipper’s opinion and doesn’t want to involve the captain as well.
