The Australian government, to curtail large-scale immigration, has decided to increase the demand for students to present proof of higher savings. Students now have to show AUD 29,710, ($19,576) previously at AUD 24,505, ($16,146) an increase of 3430.
The decision is a continuation of Australia’s previous hike, last October of 3,464. The Australian government is trying to curtail the fraudulent cases in student immigration cases and the rise in immigration.

India, the second largest consumer, in this case, has been affected the most. A decline of 48% came from Dec 22 to Dec 23.
Such measures by the Australian government will also affect IELTS, increasing its fees.
Measures taken by the Australian government are to strike a balance between immigrating students and housing.
