Aussie Batters Dominance, ICC Test Batsmen Rankings

Australian batters have conquered the ICC test batsmen rankings in the top 3 positions. ICC released an updated test batting ranking which exhibits the dominance of Aussie batsmen and the drop of Babar Azam.

With the latest astonishing victory by Australia in World Test Championship, Australian batsmen have improved their rankings, especially Travis Head.

Travis Head’s remarkable performance in the first innings surely gave him the third spot in the rankings and Steve Smith managed to hold the second position with an exceptional knock as well.

Marnus Labuschagne stays at the top spot of the ICC batter ranking. With all that update, Pakistani skipper Babar Azam dropped to fifth position.

ICC Test Batsmen Rankings Update – Travis Head Secures Third Spot

Left-handed batsman, Travis Head scored 163 runs in the first innings of the World Test Championship which pushed his ranking up to the third spot. He joined his teammates and managed to continue Aussie dominance.

For those who don’t know, the very first time three batters from the same team secured the top three positions in the Test rankings was in December 1984 when Gordon Greenidge (810), Clive Lloyd (787), and Larry Gomes (773) from West Indies formed the top trio.

At one point where Aussie batsmen secured top spots, the Pakistani skipper dropped to fifth position and Kane Williamson to fourth.

Lyon was given little opportunity to bowl in the first innings final after his quick-bowling teammates seized control, though claimed one wicket to help his side to a healthy first-innings lead.
