In response to recent rumors on social media, renowned singer Atif Aslam has clarified that he has no issues performing in Saudi Arabia, addressing claims that he refused to perform there due to proximity to religious sites.
Speaking with journalist Maliha Rehman, Aslam dismissed the speculation, pointing out that he had already performed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, and found the experience meaningful. “I have performed there before, which I believe speaks for itself on where I stand on this matter,” he shared.
Earlier today, several local media outlets reported that Atif Aslam had turned down opportunities to perform in Saudi Arabia, allegedly over concerns about performing close to sacred sites.

Aslam responded by calling the rumors “funny and strange,” stating, “It’s surprising when statements I never made get linked to me.” He stressed the importance of responsibility in media, urging journalists and fellow artists to fact-check claims before publishing or commenting on them.
