Many of the girl’s hearts were broken into thousand pieces last night because Pakistan’s one of the finest singers who took everyone’s attention with his soothing voice and lyrics is no more a bachelor. Asim Azhar has got engaged to Merub Ali, a longtime family friend.
Yes! The same Merub that everyone has seen her with him on various occasions and award functions. There have been endless rumors spread all over the internet when they both saw each other and people tried to make them siblings.
But two of them now have cleared the air purely with the small engagement ceremony on Sunday evening and shared a post to announce.
For those who might not know, Merub Ali is a model and recently she made her debut in Sinf-e-Ahan alongside Sajal Aly, Kubra Khan, Saira Yousuf, and many other big names.

On Sunday evening the whole ceremony took place, where Asim and Merub can be seen enjoying the moment of happiness and starting a new journey in their life. Both of them posted similar kinds of posts on their Instagram account.
Asim wrote, “Shukar Alhamdulillah [Thank you God]. With the grace of Allah Almighty and our parent’s duas, we announce our Imam Zamin – engagement. May Allah SWT and Ahlebait keep us protected and this happy forever, Aameen. Keep us in your prayers.”
Before announcing an engagement, the two of them faced a lot of criticism for being together and linked as cousins. Some people believed they were cousins, some said they were friends, while others believed they were romantically linked.
But later, Merub clarified everything, in her interview last year in December where she said we weren’t related. “We’re not step-siblings, we’re not cousins. Pata Nahi bus [I don’t know, that’s all] — we’re great family friends and have known each other since childhood. My brother is his best friend and our mothers are best friends.”

Soon the news spread all over the internet, the couple received endless love from their friends and fellow co-stars.

Before meeting Merub, Asim was romantically involved with Hania Aamir and both of them were in limelight even after the chaotic breakup that went viral all over social media.
They unfollowed each other on Instagram, people started taking sides of Asim Azhar on Twitter and long campaigns were even held.
But soon after long months, Hania attended his concert and shared “There is growth and maturity in moving on and letting go,” she wrote. “Prioritize your mental health. Vibe to what makes you happy. Holding hate in your heart only weakens you. Let go and live.”
Even Asim also wrote, “Life is too short to hold on to the sad bits of your past,” Amir continued. “You owe nothing to the bitter memories, not even a thought. You owe nothing to the strangers questioning your life choices, not even an explanation.
So pick yourself up, shake it off and move on. I pray that everyone reading this grows and moves on effortlessly, beautifully & gracefully.”
