With its hiking up to 850,000, India is now the worst-hit country in the world without any community transmission of COVID-19. The 77-year-old, Amitabh Bachchan, one of India’s best-known film actors, has tested positive for the virus.
Yesterday, the veteran actor took it to his Twitter to share the news with his millions of followers. Later, his son, Abhishek tweeted that he has also tested positive.

After the father and son, Aishwarya Rai and her daughter Aaradhya have also tested positive for the deadly virus. However, they have not shown any symptoms.
According to local media reports, the senior Bachan’s wife Jaya Bachan has returned negative coronavirus antigen test reports.
“Total 16 people from the Bachchan family have been tested including guards and maids. Other reports will come tomorrow,” Hindustan Times quoted an official as saying.

Both, the senior and junior Bachan’s are taken to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai. Moreover, as the son mentioned in his tweet, both of them are having mild symptoms. Additionally, both of them are currently in the isolation unit of the hospital.
In addition to this, Amitabh has urged anyone who had been close to him in the past 10 days to get tested. Since then, the Mumbai municipal officials have put up banners outside the actor’s house in Mumbai. It has been classified as a “containment zone”.
The news of Amitabh Bachan and his son getting infected has taken everyone aback. Moreover, it has led to an outpouring of support for both on social media.

In recent months, the 77-year-old Amitabh Bachan has been prominent in helping the government. He worked alongside to get its message across in the fight against Covid-19.
Earlier in March, when the pandemic broke out, he starred in a minute-long, public service announcement about a preventive checklist to be followed in the wake of the deadly coronavirus outbreak.
Soon after the news of the actors getting infected broke, #AmitabhBachan and #NanavatiHospital are trending.
Amitabh Bachan last starred alongside Ayushmann Khurana in Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Gulabo Sitabo’. The movie released on the streaming platform Amazon Prime. Subsequent to the disbarring of screenings, the movie released during the pandemic.
