An American woman, Onijah Andrew Robinson, who came to Pakistan looking for her Pakistani lover, has been moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi.
Doctors are checking Onijah’s mental health because she has been talking strangely and has swelling in her hands and feet. The hospital’s psychiatry department is currently taking care of her.
Her son, Jeremiah Robinson, shared that his mother has memory and mental health problems. He said she was supposed to return to the United States in October, but she did not want to leave Pakistan, even after the family bought her a ticket.

Records show that Onijah was arrested in South Carolina in 2021 for going into a place after being warned not to. The court set her bail at $465, but it is unclear if the amount was paid.
On January 29, two officials from the US Consulate met Onijah at Karachi Airport. However, they said they could not force her to leave the country due to legal rules.
Recently, Onijah made news when she tried to enter a residential building in Karachi’s Garden East area and refused to leave, even after residents and police asked her to go. Later, she appeared in a press conference with social worker Ramzan Chhipa, where they had an argument, and Onijah told him, “You talk too much.”
The US Consulate and authorities are keeping an eye on Onijah’s condition at JPMC, with more updates expected soon.
