The coronavirus pandemic as of yet has seen no stopping. With the govt of Pakistan now introducing a ‘smart lockdown’, more cases are expected to follow. In another high profile case, PTM leader and activist Ali Wazir has contracted the virus.
The news of Ali Wazir contracting coronavirus was confirmed by his colleague Mohsin Dawar. Since the news broke, people have been showcasing their feelings. And to be very fair, their opinions have not been kind towards Ali Wazir.

That, however, is not without reason. Social distancing and a lockdown had been ordered by the Govt of Pakistan for the last month and a half. Albeit, the PTM leadership decided to not follow the orders and run their agenda at a normal pace.

As per social media users, Ali Wazir had previously claimed that the COVID-19 was a ‘conspiracy’ of the State to earn more dollars. This, as bad as in taste, did not go well for Ali Wazir.
Moreover, Ali Wazir and his PTM team kept holding social events. When Ali Wazir’s cousin Arif Wazir passed away, he met everyone at this funeral, embracing everyone who came.

When the SOPs for battling and tackling coronavirus were already present, the PTM leader should have adhered to the policy instead of calling the disease a ‘hoax’. This goes for every Pakistani who has not been practicing social distancing.
Apart from leading his PTM team, Ali Wazir is also a Member of the National Assembly (MNA) from Waziristan.
