Multan Sultan’s Owner Alamgir Tareen Commits Suicide

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) chief Jahangir Tareen’s brother Alamgir Tareen allegedly commits suicide as his family members confirmed the news on Thursday.

Alamgir Tareen, who’s known for owning the Pakistan Super League team Multan Sultan left us after coming sudden suicide.

As per the report, he shot himself in the head with his pistol. Jahangir Tareen was presented at Alamgir’s residence located in Lahore’s Gulberg area.

Police said that Alamgir, 63, had left a hand-written suicide note before allegedly shooting himself in the head at his apartment.

For those who don’t know, Alamgir Tareen was already suffering from a disease for a long time. As per the police’s report, it might be one of the reasons for self-harm.

His close friends have disclosed that he has never mentioned his illness when he was alive.

They said that when his servant arrived on duty this morning, and Alamgir didn’t come out of his room till 10 am, he peeked into the room through a window to find the businessman “covered in blood”, sources said.

They said that the servant immediately informed Jahangir.

Back in 2020, Multan Sultan’s owner skipped the match to attend Aurat March and captured everyone’s attention.

He earned his undergraduate degree from the famous Yale University before finishing his graduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley.

According to Sultans’ official website, Alamgir was “a sports enthusiast who wanted to work towards establishing a solid platform for aspiring sportsmen and women and to provide them with the best possible resources to further develop their skills”.

He was also the main reason behind the data-based approach that now cricket franchises follow.

Alamgir’s brother Jahangir Tareen was sacked as head of the Agriculture Task Force back in 2020 under Imran Khan‘s regime.
