Rumors were spreading all over the internet regarding the cast of Fawad Khan in the critically claimed Netflix series “The Crown” for the role “Dr. Hasnat Khan” in season 5. But unfortunately, it was just a rumor and nothing more.
But according to the legit sources, not Fawad but another Pakistani actor who build his empire in the industry with his outstanding performances and selection of unique roles. That’s none other than Humayun Saeed one of the finest actors in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.
Humayun Saeed has been cast in The Crown as Dr.Hasnat Khan as one of the authentic sources confirmed the news.
Most of the young generation might not have any idea about Dr. Hasnat Khan and even in the series there’s not much detail will be discussed as well.
Humayun Saeed as Dr. Hasnat Khan – Who was Dr. Hasnat Khan
The character Dr. Hasnat Khan that Humayun Saeed will be playing is a British-Pakistani heart surgeon who practiced his field at London’s Royal Brompton Hospital. But he was in the limelight of having romantic relation with Princess Diana for two long years.
According to the ‘Peoples’ of Princess’ described him with some finds words like “’Mr. Wonderful’. Their relationship was strong, and Princess Diana even visited his parents in Lahore in May 1996.
Diana’s friend also knew about their relationship and they claimed that Hasnat was the “love of her life”. But just like her life, Diana’s love story didn’t last long enough and ended in 1997.
Diana’s death inquest demanded & planned to move to Pakistan
Dr. Hasnat Khan also submitted a statement in 2008 to investigate Diana’s death. Because Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed died together in a car accident in 1997.
He stated that, “he was in a relationship with her from 1995-1997 and that she broke up with him after she met Dodi Fayed at a holiday with Mohammed Al Fayed and his family.”
Dr. Khan came back to Pakistan and released another statement regarding her coming with him to Pakistan. He said, “he had considered a life with Princess Diana, but the situation with the press, who hounded her every move, would make it untenable.”
Dr. Khan also believed that it’s the only solution was to move to Pakistan, even Diana gave it a thought and also discussed it with her close friend Jemima Goldsmith who was married to Pakistani Cricketer Imran Khan at that time.
Although season 5 holds some dark insights of Diana and they sabotaged her personal life. Because Jemima Goldsmith whose a close friend to her and know her inside out. When she read the season 5 script, she ultimately left the show and got disappointed.
She even demanded, that “I realized that the particular storyline would not necessarily be told as respectfully or compassionately as I had hoped, I requested that all my contributions be removed from the series and I declined a credit.”
