Muslims in Myanmar are facing a mass ethnic cleansing by extremist groups. The grim reality has exposed the character of Aung San Su Kyi, the leader in Burma who supports the genocide of Muslims. According to the majority in the country, these Muslims have no representation in the state. Abrar-ul-Haq is another major celebrity to stand against the violence, ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims.
A call to action was laid and people raised their voices against the persecution of Muslims in Burma. Renowned journalist, Iqrar ul Hassan reached Burma for their help. Not just him, Waqar Zaka and Amir Liaquat Hussain also attempted to reach Myanmar and document the prevailing situation. Meanwhile, celebrities are fully engaged in raising their voices and helping in every possible way they can. With that being said, Abrar-ul-Haq did something that we really need to talk about.
Abrar ul Haq is auctioning his BMW to raise funds for Rohingya Muslims
“The person who does buy the car can come with us to Bangladesh and distribute the goods.” – Abrar ul Haq
Just recently, the singer appeared in Faisal Qureshi’s TV show where the discussion was laid about the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya Muslims and how the world has to chosen to remain silent over this grim dilemma.
He announced that he would auction his BMW that to raise funds for the affected lot. Keeping in mind, the vehicle in question may be of high value and shall be sold to the highest bidder. But a lot of celebrities have come forward and played their part, so why are we specifically mentioning Abrar-ul-Haq here?
To say the least, the remarkable gesture is not the highlight. Considering the fact that materialistic possessions do come of hard earned money, and Abrar bears testimony for it, we can actually appreciate that it’s no less than a sacrifice for the sake of humanity. This guy sets a remarkable example of what should rather be valued above all and where do we need to set our priorities.
Besides, we urge to create maximum awareness about this subject so that more and more people can come forward and contribute in any possible way they can towards the noble cause.
