The center of multiple controversies, Aamir Liaquat, yet again makes his way to the limelight as he takes a jab at Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. Making fun of Bilawal, the 48-year-old Aamir Liaquat has no shame in making a below-the-belt and disgusting jokes on Twitter.
From time to time, Bilawal has been a prime target of Aamir Liaquat on different occasions, he often makes disgusting jokes on him. However, this time, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader took a jab at the PPP chairman again and ridiculed him unsought for no reason.
“People’s Party can only derail the government on one condition i.e. Bilal tears off his clothes, and blames Sheikh Rasheed for harassment,” his tweet read.
It is no secret that Liaquat and Bilawal are fierce political opponents. However, stooping so low, and making such a disgusting statement is downright heinous. Regardless of whichever party he supports, the least he could do is keep his unsolicited remarks to himself.
Pakistanis on Twitter are having none of it!
“This is the person who lectures on Islam in Ramadan in particular and in other months in general and is called a follower of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Isn’t he a hypocrite who makes fun of and Islam?????” One user wrote.
How many free passes can one sexist get?
Every now and then, this is what we observe with respect to Bilawal. Many, particularly from PTI, make fun of him and his sexuality. However, Liaquat went a bit too far this time by making a joke on sexual assault.
It is sad the way our politics has degenerated to low blows which are reinforcing existing regressive practices and third-class mind-sets.
In a nutshell, it seems as if Liaquat is being ignored by the ruling party, and in order to stay relevant, he keeps pulling off such daring feats. In fact, he seems to be so unfazed by the embarrassment that he causes himself through his own doings that he does not even care anymore.
Not to mention the rape epidemic that our country is going through, joking about harassment is just purely evil. To put matters bluntly, the fact that a statement was just a bad joke is simply no excuse. From a bigger standpoint, should PTI tolerate an MNA who under the guise of joking trivializes harassment?
In the very manner of showing contempt which is so troubling, Khalil Ur Rehman mocked the PPP chairperson and called Bilawal a third gender person. In addition, just recently, PTI MNA ridiculed Bilawal over a similar reason at his sister’s wedding, unleashing his evilness.
