Women in Pakistan are finally standing up for their rights and making their voices heard. In fact, within a few years, women have become stronger. In line with that women are now often driving cars, have jobs, and are also found in those facets of life, where our patriarchal society only pictured males as suitable candidates.
Shazia Parveen also the first Pakistani female firefighter is making the news again in public. After achieving a lot of love, when she joined the fire department, this amazing firefighter is now working on setting new benchmarks.
She claims the purpose of doing so is to make sure the squad can be more responsive, quick, and efficient in their performance. It will also ensure that the department’s efficiency can increase with the passage of time. Parveen admits that she is a stronger person today because her late father was very supportive of her ambitions. And now finally as a trainer, she wishes to make sure that she fulfills all of them.
While talking to a news channel she explains the training procedure:
“They include extinguishing fires, climbing high-rise buildings, rescuing, and helping people in traumatic situations. There are three wings under Rescue 1122: Rescue, Fire, and Medical Wing. All of them are challenging and test the team members’ physical and mental strength, commitment and resolve take part in rescue operations”.
Shazia Parveen’s journey from firefighter to fire instructor
Let’s take a look back. Parveen became a firefighter back in 2014. She mentions it was her dream to save people and contribute to humanity and her beloved country Pakistan. To see her working today as a strong trainer and instructor is indeed mind-blowing. In addition, we are also proud of the way women in Pakistan are growing and fulfilling their dreams.
From brazing sacrificial cattle in the cattle market for selling to rescuing people from fire; women have managed to do it all and to say that we are amazed by them all is an understatement.
In addition, Parveen urges women to take part in rescue services also. She insists and encourages them to take part in rescue services the same way as they do in nursing and medical care. Hence, they shouldn’t hesitate and be proud of this profession.
In the end, all we can think of is how amazing it is to see the prosperity in women. After living under the influence of patriarchy and backward thinking. It is about time women get up and stand for their rights; and also prove that they are brave, strong, and confident in tackling all the issues that they face.
