Barrister Khadija Siddiqui who was stabbed 23 times in broad daylight in Lahore, was fighting actress Uzma Khan’s case against Business tycoon Malik Riaz’s family. Uzma has accused Riaz’s family members of physical abuse.
Soon after the scandal was made public, Uzma hired her legal counsel including Khadija and Barrister Hassaan Niazi. Niazi is also PM Imran Khan’s nephew and has been taking an active part in Uzma’s case against Riaz. He can be seen accompanying her in all the legal proceedings. Uzma has always thanked him for all his support during all this time.
I have officially engaged my legal counsel, who will fight my case and help me through with this legal battle! Please get in touch with @khadijasid751 @HniaziISF for any queries that you may have. pic.twitter.com/I8SIrZGiZj

After a lot of speculations and defamation, Malik Riaz also has finally taken legal action against Uzma Khan and her lawyer Niazi. Both have been naming and shaming Riaz and his family for bribing the media and lawyers to avoid highlighting the issue.
Legal proceedings initiated against an individual having a history of miscreant behaviour himself. Any attempts to defame me wrongfully will be dealt with legal action. https://t.co/cSHGvRjH8j

However, Siddiqui is now disassociating herself from the Uzma Khan case. Reason? The stabbing survivor hinted at a possible settlement between Uzma and Malik Riaz’s family. It is surprising for many while the Uzma Khan controversy case might have sizzled down a little, the actress was sure that she was not dealing with matters lying down.
This is to announce that we are disassociating from #UzmaKhan case.I understand the reasons of any settlement by two aggrieved women in a rigged system,my conscience doesn’t allow me to be part of any of that, even in a professional capacity.

However, there have been no words on Khadija’s disassociation from Niazi yet. Uzma recently took to Twitter to voice her distraught over how her case is being handled.
‘I am totally shattered’
“My FIR is legal. Blatant maligning and mudslinging is [sic] only reflective of our society’s deep-rooted misogyny and patriarchy.” She wrote in her latest official statement.
“I am totally shattered. Probably beyond repair. But please I beg of you NOT to make this a fight of women attacking other women.”
